Published in November, 2022 – the results of an experiment at Rich’s Laboratory of Medical Zoology that looked at a new control-release device to determine spatial repellent effectiveness against tick bites.  The results and more on this ground breaking direction in providing protection against vector-borne illness can be read HERE: https://www.umass.edu/news/article/ticked-new-device-may-offer-better-way-prevent-tick-bites

The control release device was developed by scientist-entrepreneur NOEL ELMAN with funding provided by the Department of Defense medical research program.  The device was designed to create a ‘forcefield” type protection with a controlled release of repellant that alters and slows the tick’s movement toward their target.
